README.md
The common-lisp.net site
The site is a Common Lisp program: one page tree, held in one Lisp
image and shared by every visitor, built on
Gendl. It lives in
clnet/, which says how to run it, how it is laid
out, and how the news, the request line and the donations work. The
same image serves cl-foundation.org, the
Common Lisp Foundation's own site, as a second page tree of one page
(clnet/source/clf-pages.lisp), since October 2026.
The words of the long pages -- the companies list, the FAQ, the
projects hub, the news -- are the Markdown and HTML files
under content/, edited the way they always were. Every page of the
site links to its own source at the bottom.
The static site generator that produced common-lisp.net from 2018 to 2026 is in this repository's history, up to the commit that retired it in October 2026.
Two licences, by directory:
clnet/, the program, is under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later (LICENSE). That includes the words of the pages written in Lisp.content/is under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (content/LICENSE). Text in the Lisp sources that should be CC BY can be moved out into a file here, which the page then reads.
