According to the discussion on the maillist: * i changed the color of navbar * made navbar a little bit thinner * bumped font size all over the site a bit.
I was working within the current bootstrap theme (simplex). I think changing navbar color to something completely different involves changing primary color all over the site (i tried green navbar and red buttons & links and it was not good-looking completely).
We can think of changing the theme if needed.
